From day one the aim was to provide beautiful handcrafted tiles not easily available from the standard tile stores of the time, an idea we still hold dear today - and, despite many attempts at copying no one has yet to replicate our unique approach. E N G L A N D We’ve heard a few claims as to the exact origins of the business and its name, but the Fired Earth we know today was primarily the brainchild of our friend and founder Nicholas Kneale in 1983.
